The 1888 Hotel (Casita) 2Bed/1Bath Detached

Would definitely book again Positive: We liked that it is a historic building, felt super cozy, good location, had everything needed for the stay Negative: We stayed at the casita, and couldn’t find how to get there easily, the AC was loud and we had trouble turning on the one in one of the bedrooms

Cozi and confortable Positive: Closer to everything. The lobby is quite nice although it’s all manage by yourself with instructions as there is no personnel except for cleaning. Includes free parking too Negative: Nothing I didn’t like

The 1888 is an unconventional “hotel,” really an unmanned guest house but one supported by 24 hour service by phone and text as needed. The reps were extremely responsive to any query and they keep in touch with multiple texts throughout the stay. The Casita is a private cottage at the rear of the property with two bedrooms to sleep 4 and a couch that doubles as a single bed; this place would not sleep 3 couples but it worked out fine for our group of 5. It is nicely appointed with a kitchen with modern appliances and a bathroom with a stall shower. Very clean and comfortable, but the location is a major highlight- within easy walk to the Pier and waterfront restaurants. Parking is a bit of a bear with a 10 minute walk to their affiliated garage, but for quick in and outs there was plenty of temp parking on the streets around the hotel. We had two cars to park overnight and were able to put them both in the lot simultaneously with our one garage pass and leave one there all times since we only needed one to get around. Additional passes were available if needed for a fee. Overall a great stay and a recommended option for downtown St Pete proximity.
